| Telephony on the TV | ||||
|
London, UK, 19 July 2010. With Adobe's Flash installed on television set-top boxes becoming more and more commonplace, Requestec now has the springboard to create a new telephony outlet: the TV itself. Requestec has been at the forefront of Adobe Flash-based telephony for 5 years, and telephony from the television is a natural extension of this expertise. The set-top Flash client has the same functionality as the web-based client, i.e. video calling, multi-party video conferencing, visual voice and video mail, Click2Call widgets, and much more. With a webcam and microphone built into the STB, voice and video telephony controlled from the sofa is now a reality. The client allows calls to be received while watching television, and can be operated through the set-top box remote control. When calls are placed or received, the television image can be minimised to a smaller window, while the video image of the caller fills the screen. Marek Zwiefka-Sibley, CEO: "We're very excited about the community benefits of this product, especially with the multi-party conferencing feature. It allows for a group of friends all watching the same game of football on their televisions to all video call in at the same time, and discuss the game while it's happening. We're confident that this is going to be a game-changer."
