April 2004: Requestec announces the launch of inbound MMS services in conjunction with O2.

Launched in April 2004 and operating via the O2 Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC), this new carrier-grade product opens up a huge array of user-interactive, multimedia offerings for the very first time. From live interaction with TV broadcasts and websites, to competitions and new concepts in dating and the like, picture and video messaging is now a viable consideration and the possibilities are limitless.

In addition to being a novel and compelling addition to current digital outlets, interactive multimedia messaging also opens up completely new revenue streams. By reverse-billing users via standard SMS protocol for sending their MMS messages into a particular service, previous 'text-only' services have been taken to a new level.
